ปัญหาการเกิดฟองในน้ำมันอาจเกิดจาก

1. ถังน้ำมันมีขนาดเล็กเกินไป (ที่แนะนำควรมีขนาด 12 เท่าของอัตราการไหลของปั๊ม)

2. ปริมาณน้ำมันในถังน้ำมันมีปริมาณน้อยเกินไป

3. ท่อทางไหลกลับของน้ำมันอยู่สูงกว่าระดับน้ำมันในถัง

ข้อแนะนำ ควรมีแผ่นกั้น(buffle plate) ตามรูป

1. อาจมีการรั่วในเรือนปั๊ม ทำให้มีลมเข้าระบบได้

2. อาจปนเปื้อนน้ำมันเครื่อง ซึ่งมีสารชะล้าง ( Detergent ) อาจจะเป็นสาเหตุทำให้เกิดฟองได้ ซึ่งการปนเปื้อนอาจมาจากอุปกรณ์หรือภาชนะที่ใช้กับน้ำมันเครื่องแล้วเอามาใช้กับน้ำมันไฮดรอลิค เช่น ปั๊มมือหมุน เป็นต้น
